Arthur had traveled to the city with his adoptive father and brother and was to become a squire to his brother Cay. Arthur forgot Cay’s sword at the inn and went back to get it, but the inn was closed, so Arthur saw the Excalibur sword in the stone next to the chapel, took it, and gave it to Cay.
