Sculptures and figurines: quality

Polystone is a well-known name for a mixture of a liquid resin (polyethylene) and natural minerals such as ground granite, marble, soapstone, etc. The resin consists of two components that are liquid when separate but harden after mixing without the need for high pressure or heat. This makes polystone ideal for “cold” casting of sculptures and figurines. It also takes on the shape of the mold into which it is cast extremely well, making it possible to incorporate very fine details into the designs.

The addition of minerals adds extra weight and creates the desired stony feel. The cast pieces are then sanded, polished, and colored in several steps.

Polystone has many other applications, such as in the production of high-quality kitchen countertops, playground equipment, cutting boards, boat and aircraft accessories, etc.

The figurines are intended for indoor use. Prolonged exposure to UV radiation and extreme temperature fluctuations can damage the material and/or the color. The extent of this damage depends on the specific composition of the polystone used and/or the post-treatment it has undergone. If a figurine is suitable for outdoor use, this will be explicitly stated.

Our large and life-size sculptures are made of polyester reinforced with fiberglass, which is the most suitable material for this purpose. If you plan to place the sculpture outdoors, please be sure to contact us so we can let you know whether the figure you’ve chosen is definitely suitable for outdoor use.
